Question 1: The teacher in this video introduces her social-skills lesson by showing a video of Rainbow Fish. After watching the video, the students discuss sharing. Do you think that the concept of sharing is one that should be taught? Was the use of the video a valid use of time?
I do think the concept of sharing should be taught to students, especially in first grade. Students must learn to work fairly with one another and as a team, this is a skill students will carry with them the rest of their lives. Sharing does not only pertain to toys, but to many things in adulthood, such as, sharing things with individuals in need. The video was a great choice for the grade level because it had a great message and grasped the students attention well.
